Mobile Location Information

Some TaxiCall services use the location of your mobile phone to connect your call to the nearest available driver. This saves unnecessary delay and wasted mileage, which is good for you, for the drivers, and for the environment.

For your peace of mind, you may wish to know that we only request the location of your phone from the network when you call one of our customers that uses this feature, which is when you were going to tell them where you were anyway so that they could come and pick you up. And we always give you a warning before we do, so you can hang up if you don't want your mobile to be located.

The telecommunications industry has a Code of Practice for the use of mobile location information. TaxiCall is fully compliant with the Code. On top of that, some mobile operators require that we clarify further to mobile users the Terms of Service covering how we use mobile location information, so here they are.

By calling a TaxiCall number which uses the mobile location service you are agreeing that the mobile network operator may release information concerning the location of your mobile phone to us so that we can connect your call to the nearest available driver.

The accuracy of the service can vary depending on where you are at the time because it is usually based on mobile mast locations. So for instance it may be less accurate in rural locations where the masts are further apart. Generally this won't matter because you will be able to confirm your exact location with the driver when you speak to him or her.

The service provider has the right to suspend or to terminate this service.
